ive got a few tuning goodies on my 125lc,dt175 piston, skimmed flywheel etc and ive been advised to use a bigger carb. my question is what carb shall i use?can some body tell me what bike has a suitable carb? if no joy i will try my standard one with a ledar nozzel and 240 main jet.

A nice flat-side Mikuni should do the trick....off a TZR/TDR

what mark 125 is it? mk1/2 had a 24 mm mk3 got a 26mm. 26mm will do if you can get hold of a full ledar kit plus an extention tube then your air filter (if you are using a s+b or k+n type) if not go the 34mm yzr type.

its a mk2 with a mk1 carb with ledar nozzel and 240 main jet(not full ledar kit),ive been told a suzuki x7 carb was a popular conversion back in the 80's? i dont realy want a motorcross carb cos i want to keep the autolube,i realy want to find out what carbs other people have tryed before i buy one.

pretty sure the carb on the X7 aint got an oil feed pipe...if memory serves...might be worth trying to look at one before you buy one

i asked a guy selling a pair of x7 carbs about oil feeds and he said that the set he has got doent have oil feeds and possably came off a tz350 racer,so im not sure if they do or not? ive noticed aprilia rs125's have a 32mm carb, just they use a dollereto carb and im unsure if it will fit. please help somebody?

People have used the 32mmcarbs on theys kits but anything biger them a 28 and it will feel quight bogey ar low revs . It iot tuned but its not a full race tune and to big on the carb will not get the most out of it .

i asked a guy selling a ty 175 if it hap a oil feed nipple for auto lube and his didnt,he said he thinks they were premix only, ive changed my mine now and decided to run pre mix now as the 125 is only a toy for the weekend and i dont mind mixing the oil/fuel and atleast no oil pump is one less thing to worry about.

incase any bodys interested ive found a nice pair of kr1s carbs from fleabay that have had the top of the venturi machined out into an egg shape for a bit of extra power, origanally the kr1s carbs are a pair of 28mm kehinin flatslide's so fingers crossed when its back together again it should run and go well,it was even a nice straight forward swap over with only a minor tweek needed to the cable.

the kr1s carbs look like a nice(and cheap i paid £30 ror 2) upgrade for a 250/350lc too,has any one else seen carbs that have been reprofiled internaly from a 28mm round hole to a more egg shape hole measuring around 29.5mm,i think this must be a race bike mod as the carbs were off an kr1s ex race bike? i would post up a picture but im lacking a digi camera at the mo'

ive finaly got it surprisingly fast fot a 125lc,next mods are to fit my bigger dtr125 clutch when i recieve my gasget set and heavy duty clutch springs to cure my clutch slip, then im going to enlarge the inlet on the barrel to fit some v-force reeds and a bigger fuel tap.
im also thinking of sending my barrel back off the the guy who fitted the liner/tuned it to enlarge the inlet instead of me doing it and maybe ading 2 more inlet ports like on race tuned/motocross barrels?? decissions, decissions

Whayt ever you get the jetting is going to take a while to sorght out can you recall what carb them rg's use norbs? im currently running a pwk28 thats been machined out to just under 30mm,power comes in strong @7500 and it will stay in the band right through the gears, infact its got the power to go 1 tooth larger on the front sprocket but id rather stick to acceleration rather than top speed, ive seen a inlet mod where another 2 holes are made, usualy on race tuned/motor cross barrels,is this ideal?
