i should be getting my head and barrel back from fahron engineering this week (just had 175cc sleeve and stage 3 port work done). it is running a lightened flywheel, swarbrick pipe or mk3 pipe for mot,k&n,carbon reeds and reed spacer,240 main jet and ledar nozzel so fueling should be ok(ish), Anyway after its all back together any running in tips would be appericated? how many miles of gentle riding is recomended and which make of 2 stroke oil is recomended? hopefully when its run in all the time any money spent restoring it will be worth it

that sounds like the proper way to run it in,on motocross bikes ive rebuilt previously ive always just ran them hot, turned of re started and ran up hot again a few times then for the first tank of fuel i would richen the oil mixture a tad and ride it semi gentle with the occasional blip to bed it in. fingers crossed im hoping my rd engine will last longer then a crosser engine.

That would be abouit right but id do an extra 100 opening her up to about 9 grand for a bit then leting it drop back down to 6. Remember the longer you run it in the longer it will last with good compreshon , Its not all abot miles . Its better to do more short trips leting it get hot and cooling them 1 long trip and then thrashing .
