www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-RD-375-LC-YPVS-Hybrid/273370122355?hash=item3fa6210873:g:G5YAAOSwxrpbVgMF‘It is an LC chassis but the frame has been restamped 31k 0007xxx. Don't know why but do have HPi certificate and log book with everything showing as is on bike.’ An honest description of facts, however I would have preferred a bit more of an informed description for a BIN of £4,450. ‘It’s an LC chases but the frame has been restamped 31k 0007xxx. I know when frames are restamped legitamatly by Police they tend to issue a unique number. Therefore I can only assume this has been done illegally to match a log book I bought down the pub from fat Lee who said he got it from his mate who had written his 31k off. Of course the HPI checks etc will match the paperwork, but of course not the frame. If you want to buy a cloned bike and either ride it until/if the fuzz find out, or want to buy it and strip it for parts and try and make as much money out of those LC idiots that seem to pay top dollar for parts then this is the bike for you. Happy bidding.’ Jon What I don't get with that is he has 2 other frames Why would you not swap over and remove the dodgy number Steve

This was my intention (to swap onto one of the 4L0 frames, but as the ad says, I just don't have time. So a rolling project for someone.
If Jon or anyone else wants more info for the BIN of 4450 then feel free to ask
P.s for forum members info the reserve is currently just under 4k
Pps I'm not an eBay chancer..
Thanks

Thanks Don't think you're a chancer, you've been honest about the frame number. We all just wince at a restamped frame And you don't have to explain about not having the time, got a few projects like that lol Nice looking bike, good luck with the sale Only thing I'd advise you to do is make up some details and get a nova declaration on that frame (declare it as a bike just imported from Germany with name and address from a German directory enquiries and state cash sale, no receipt) If you then state in your add it has a nova and can easily dated by the air cooled rd club it may help. Comforting to know that you have the ability to accurately price other people's goods, should rename the thread from eBay chancers to whining old geezers. You either want parts or you don't and you can either afford them or not simple as that. Moaning about parts that you don't want beggers believe. It's also worth a mention while you are sat on your throne dealing out wisdom that by and large as you can see by previous post's you are having a pop at forum members.

It's also worth a mention while you are sat on your throne dealing out wisdom that by and large as you can see by previous post's you are having a pop at forum members. I assume from your post below mine you are referring to me directly, by your use of singular references such as throne, rather than thrones? If so let me reply. Firstly, I am not the only person that finds hugely inflated asking prices on eBay quite frankly offensive. Just look at all the other forum members reply’s or direct posts in this thread to see. Secondly, I totally understand your opinion may be different to mine. That’s the beauty of living in democracy and being able to post on here. A lot of forum members are aggrieved by the shear number of people jumping on the band wagon and buying and stripping the bikes we love purely for mercenary profit due to their increasing rareity. That’s why I started this thread. Many on here can remember when these bikes and parts went for peanuts. If we were mercenary we’d have said I wished I’d of bought everything you could at that time to make a profit later. However that’s not the spirit of many forum memebers who just enjoy the bikes they have. For your information I regularly (usually every Sunday) add to my watch list many eBay parts for LC’s and YPVS’s. Therefore I’d like to think I have a good idea of how much parts/bikes ACTUALLY sell for. This is an important point. An auction on eBay is completely different to a BIN. I’ve seen you comment on put it on eBay and it will find its price a few times. While your absolutely right with an auction, putting something up for BIN at an inflated price is totally different. There are many pirates out there that are purely after maximum profit. They rely on the uniformed/gullible new owner that needs a part/bike. That is where our little community will at least advise them if they ask. Your comment about ‘accurately’ pricing parts is complete bollox. If I had said the item was actually worth maybe 20% less than it ought to be then fine. But these things I comment on are massively inflated. You yourself have commented on Adrian Higgins posts as being rediculous. You have even joined in this very thread with the following in the past: And liked the next 2 posts who agreed with you. What’s changed to make you have a C shift in your opinions? You are right about one thing. I do have a throne from which I am ‘dishing out all this wisdom’. I expect it’s different to the one you invisage? Mine is white and made of porcelain. Jon

Jon I commented and the post re Adri higgi due to the fact he had ripped me off my saying he had not received a particular part from me and had a full refund from Ebay, the post re the side panel was I found it funny that it had one price written on the item and up for sale for a different amount. I made no remarks regarding prices being excessive so no shift in opinion at all. Have a good evening.

Ok give you that But it is well known that sheene reps are cooler and pull the birds better. Kenny may get have won one more title but come on a Californian almond farmer or 60 gitane unfiltered crumpet banging your bones shagging a super model whilst piloting your own helicopter and splashing it all over no competition

"A 1984ish Yamaha RD250 frame with a nice clear original frame number. I have no registration document for it, but I have a record of an -N registration on a Yamaha frame which I owned 20 years ago and if you buy the frame I'll tell you the number. Use it to apply to the DVLA and if the frame number is right they will charge you £25 and send you a V5C. If not, you'll have to build it into a bike and then apply to register it." So, he has a V5, but not for this frame, which has a nice clear original number. He thinks you can just register it with the V5 and be done... or the frame number when its built into a bike. Mental. He is selling a bunch of V5s. Surely thats illegal, I thought the law stopped that practice in the early 90s?

Sadly eBay let you sell them. Seen ones for classic cars go for daft money.

If the RD200 did have one, I wonder why it didn't follow on to the LC version?? Didn't some of the DT MX's use the genny as a starter ??
