he sold his bike and hasnt been on here for 18 months.
put the cups in the freezer and heat the frame seat with a hairdryer or heat gun then tap them in. The new bits will sit out prouder in the frame than the old ones

Great thanks Museumman, my problem is that I've not got any of the old bits to compare the new ones against. I've only got the cover and nut. Below are pictures of the frame top and bottom.

That looks like the old ones completely different from tapers you will need to knock them out ,they are easy to knock out

just drop a long bar down there until it touches the edge of the bottom cup then bash it, move the bar to the opposite edge and keep bashing it in different places until it falls out. turn frame upsidedown and same again

On the yokes will the bearing collar come off easy enough the yolk is tapered so you can wedge in a thick screwdriver around the sides to pop it off

Guys, my new headstock bearings have turned up today, they don't have dust shields, should that be right? the dust cover is a yamaha part mate. if you havent got one their very cheap to buy new online or your local yam dealer. lots of models use the same part so still available. john.

Just fitted these on my MK1 RD125LC fitted ok but the only thing is because the top bearing is thicker you cannot get a full lock nut on the top

Is the bearing and shell sitting too high- therefore you can't get enough of the nut on the headstock thread?

The bearing is fully home it wont go any further because of the shoulder it's all tightened up ok just not quite a full thread that's all
