Rather than spread videos across different thread, figured I should progressively lump all the ones I put together in one place. I also stick them in the 'RDs in Australia' thread, so if you've seen them there... Post Classic Racing Club of NSW. Club Championship Round 6. Wakefield Park NSW. 30th August 2014. Period 4 & 5 350 & 500s, Period 4 250GP Race 2, event 9. (the video missed race 1, but it was terribly boring from the pov anyway. The LC didn't want to run. I think I dawdled around last in class, 2nd last overall. I know I got lapped inside 4 laps) Race 3, event 16.

Southern Classic. 33rd annual gig. It is held at the Broadford circuit, about 100km (?) north of Melbourne. Around 4 hours drive south of home. This is where they hold the Broadford Bike Bonanza at Easter - where heap of non-racersget the chance to ride, as fast as they like, their 25+ year old bikes around the road race, enduro, MX, short circuit and speedway tracks. The Southern Classic is a major meeting of bikes up to Forgotten Era (pre '81). Robbie Phillis was there on some hot Katana but got beaten by a couple of younger guns. Don't know the bloke but it was interesting to see him set up with his tent and car, bike etc in the long grass beside the dirt road up on the side of the hill. I was in the combined Post Classic 350 & 500 / Forgotten Era 251 - 400 races. It's my first open national meeting and only my second race meeting I did learn that the fast 350LCs are generally ridden by blokes of my vintage but who weigh 10-20kg less than me. They also have 32mm carbs and have a bit of time put into their bikes. So, I live in hope that, one day, I can spend some money and get someone who knows what they are doing to re-assemble my LC. Or maybe not. I can't imagine a faster bike being any more fun than the one I've got. The reason why it was 251-400 is so all the '250s' would be separate and no one could ask questions? Nah, wouldn't happen. 400cc? One fellow, who was in the pit bay next to me, built a TZ400 using pistons from a Jetski. Reckon'd it didn't go any faster, just had heaps of torque. I don't think the organisers wanted him in the post classic 500 class, up against modified SR500s etc. Race 10 - Saturday. it was bloody hot! Race 21 - Sunday morning. I suspect I had the tyre pressures wrong, and that's what causes the sphincter puckering moment on lap 4. Race 35 - mid Sunday. Starting to make some progress. Race 46 - Sunday arvo. Second last race of the weekend. One step forward, two steps back?

Bloody new computer with it's anti-everything software....I've got my buttons back now that I've sussed it out.
I had 4 races. So much fun. And I managed to scare myself too. My little LC is way slow on the straights. Speed trap of 165 was usual. I think I got it to 168 on two laps. The next slowest was doing 175. Most were around 180-190. The fastest LC was 202km/h.
I need some speed and I also need to look further ahead, calm down, breathe, etc etc etc so I don't keep running off. Running off just makes everyone think you're too desperate for that $10 trophy. And I must stop trying to sit on the outside as I get the the exit - it seems like another really good way to run out of track.
I'll get the other races up soon.

Race 2. I really enjoyed this one and got down to a 2.05.5. Not too shabby for a fat 54 year old.

Thanks, it was well worth riding.
I found the carb problem too. So I may now have some engine performance. We'll wait and see.

Great riding matey, looks like you're enjoying yourself! Have you considered a fairing on the LC? I had a Harris Hawk fairing that I used to pop on my LC now and again, back in the day. It was great for acceleration and top speed, could be fitted in about half an hour and at 70mph dropped the revs by 1k, it did require dropped bars though. Mine was road legal with a hole for the headlight but I believe they made a race use one too. Keep the vids coming, they're great, let's see a "TT on the podium" one real soon!

I am trying to be historical. No fairing. Unless I happen to find something cheap, or free. Another thing - when you're fat and fiftyfive, a small fairing isn't going to help much. A diet and some exercise may. Should I add - fairings are for pussies - and then take the fairings off my Tigers? Colour - I REALLY like the historic Gulf colours - blue & orange except I think a white pin stripe rather than black. Making it pretty is the last thing I need to do. Looks like I am forced to fixing the ignition first. It didn't run yesterday at the Club Championship meeting. Oh well.

2015 Island Classic from a British point of view. Long video 45 minutes.
I enjoyed watching this, even though the POMS won. Actually, that's a good thing. It means they will keep coming back. Hopefully the Kiwis and the Yanks will encourage a fewmore of their riders to come out (like it would be hard to be convinced to leave a northern winter).

2015 Barry Sheene Festival of Speed - Sydney Motor Sport Park, Eastern Creek. The racing was on the 'Grand Prix' circuit. I didn't do a video of the Friday race. I DNF'd that one on lap 2, when my crappy gear shift linkage broke. I drilled and pinned it on Saturday morning to get it working. The first one is of the one race we had on Saturday. There were a couple of delays - a nasty prang at the Turn 1 in the sidecars where two were airlifted to hospital - both looked more seriously injured than it turned out they were, good result. Another long delay where a rider's leg went in between the rear wheel and swing arm of another bike! It took ages to release his foot. He was getting around on Sunday with his leg & foot in one of those big brace/boot things, happy as Larry. Sunday's second race was recorded but my thing stopped after a lap and a bit. Total rebuild now being done. I got down to a low 2.04, with the bike not running particularly well. I am happpy with my braking and corner speed. Finger's crossed the rebuild, with running it in on a dyno, will give me some acceleration and straight line speed. Wait and see. Next race meeting isn't until the end of May. Broadford Bike Bonanza on next weekend (Easter). I will only be using my '73 RD250, unless a bloke I know comes good on his offer of a derby on a TZ250. Wait and see.

Penrite Broadford Bike Bonanza 2015. It wasn't a good weekend for me, for a range of reasons. Still I did have a great time.
The videos are compilation of everything recorded on my cameras - hand held and POV.
I was at 'Historic Winton' last weekend - a combined 2+4 event, riding the TZ250 that I mentioned earlier. No video from there but, fingers crossed, I will be riding it again in about 6 weeks at Eastern Creek. Bit faster than the LC I expect.
