I had one as a renter on holiday and I thought it looked fantastic. But it was a little lame, nothing like my 20 year old DR350.

Jeff, just don't compere the performance with a 20 or 30 years old memory, just ride it The wifes cbf250 cant even shake a shitty stick at an RD250E in the performance stakes. But... its a great ride and handles and breaks a lot better. Hhmmmm now there's an idea for a hybrid. The 250e's a great ride as well, and pulls fat cnut me and a 10year old (nearly 5 foot tall) really well

they are a bit gutless to ride , and they eat top ends so change the oil regular and go green laneing on it
theyre not too bad off road ,light enough with enough grunt for some fun , but only about 18 hp , but if a trundle off road is what you want they'll do that okay , well suited to my off road inability anyway. there was an R version , better spec chassis iirc , but same motor . the earlier sohc motor was a bit better , but again it was a mechanical cannibal

KLX VERDICT. Hi All Just Had My First 20 Mile Ride Of My 2010 KLX 250, 1200 Genuine Miles On The Clock. Good Points;- Riding Position Great, Could Sit On It All Day. Gearbox Like Silk (you can find neutral by blowing on it)! Suspension Fantastic But Too Soft For A Pillion (unless your missus is size 8) I Wish!! Very Economical (so what)! Very Agile And Really Easy To Ride Pretty Smooth, You Dont Really Notice The Knobbly Tires On The Road, Hard To Believe But True Nice Colour Bad Points;- 70mph Seems About All It Has But Not Straining Anything At All At That Speed And Would Hold It All Day May Just Be Me But Not That Keen On The Engine Sound Will Not Lift Turf With A Good Handfull My DRZ 400 Felt More Robust And Sounded Better And The Power Was Always On Tap So The KLX Is Not Too Bad, It Is What It Is, Not A Gravel Slinger, But It Will Take You Where You Want To Go And You Can Have A Laugh When You Get There The Aggessive Styling, Puke Green Colour Make It Look Like Something That Its Not (a beast) The DRZ Just Gets On With The Job And Is Very Under Rated In My Opinion KLX Rating 8/10 DRZ Rating 10/10, Yes I Know, Why Didnt You Keep It Then YB 100 9/10!!!

Hi Copper, Dont Do Photo Bucket But Its A Minter With 1200 Miles On It, All Comments Were About Right Good And Bad But It Will Do Me For A Bit As I Will Ride Anything Hence The YB100, Even An XL185 Or Kmx Would Have Done.

I had one and it's good for off road, suspension was very good, but my crm250 was the best for enduro and road riding.
