Never see your money again IMO, but money isn't why most people do it, right?

Lol been re-building my mk1 for about 15yrs. Started with all the usual gusto. Moved away and left it in my mums garage gathering dust and garden implement accessories Now have it at mine and am slowly getting back into it. Still need to locate half the fricking bits though that are spread over 2 houses 90 miles apart and in various un-labelled boxes and carrier bags Had just about broken its back before i moved so most of the big stuff was done and so far have about 90% of the bits together and have made a semi mental list of what is needed. Sadly a few bits have gone for good in a garage clearout by said mother! As for costs........not kept a record or really bothered, just after all this time the prices have quadrupled and some! Not going for a showroom build though so savings can be made somewhere. Prob take another year to finish at my pace.....the paintwork is the next big expense i looked into

I bought a boxed lc sold the bits i didnt need to buy the bits i needed im probably into it just over what its worth £800/900
If you go for show std then your talking a fair bit of money that you wont see if you sell it also the up side to ebay is if you put an auction on the certainly reflects what people think its worth rather than people putting a price on thats realy unrealistic like £2700 etc
Good luck hope you find your decision and bring another lc back to life and back on the rd
