Hi, i have owned my 350ypvs for 3 years now and don't get to use it much, hence why i have never had to buy any 2 stroke oil, now the red lights on, the question is which oil to buy, when i owned a 350lc in the 80s there was only one type of 2 stroke oil, now there are all sorts, synthetic, semi synthetic, scooter 2 stroke oil, ect. Which one do i get??? with modern oils do you have to back the auto lube off

No don't back the autolube off! I always think you should use the best oil you can, but most oils these days are far better than what we used to use back in the day
Personally for a road bike I would use Motul 710 or Castrol Power 1

I'm using the Exol Optima Racing Oil as well in various bikes. No problems so far

I have run my tuned motor since the motor was built on Putoline TT sport which is fully synth and £10 a litre from local bike shop.
Done 600 miles now ( only run in for 100 ) and putting out mid 70's at wheel. Had pipes off 100 miles ago and had a look up the port and pistons and bores perfect

I dont think you can too far wrong on any branded semi synth mate..dont fret over it too much, the lack of use is more likely damaging the engine more than what brand of oil your considering..

Running my fast road tuned ypvs on motul 800,70bhp at back wheel.Running pre mix at 30-1. Done 1,500 hard miles and took exhausts off and looked up ports, pistons, bores, head, power valves all look like the engine just been assembled, but at £19/litre it's bloody expensive.Smells pretty good also. With super unleaded at £6/gallon and oil at nearly £4 pre-mix/gallon and hard riding consumption at 20mpg.£10 to go 20 miles!!
