My first ride on my n2 was far from impressive.
Revved up ok when riding though it spluttering and doesn't want to rev through the mid range.
It standard apart from Microns.
The needle clip is in the wrong position according to the manual. I have it in the middle groove.
The manual says 4th one from top.
I'm having a blonde moment. Does that make it second one from the bottom of the needle?

I had this with an F2 I had. It spluttered so much through the mid-range it was almost unrideable. I moved the clips one position nearer to the end (hence letting the needle drop down further) and it was pretty much perfect after that

Mine was on the middle one Looey. I felt it needed the needle raising which would put it where it is supposed to be. So I will try that first. If I went the other way I'd be 2 notches out of position.let you know how I get on.

Yeah see what happens moving it that way. If it's running rich in the mid-range and spluttering, then the taper of the needle needs to drop down more into the jet to reduce the amount of fuel coming in . The only way to do that is for the clip to move further away from the tapered end of the needle to allow it to drop in further. But see how you get on .

Actually thinking about it. I might go your way first.
While riding it I have it a bit of choke, and that made it even worse.

I thought I had a result Looey
Raised the needle to put it where it should be.
It ran even worse than it did in the middle position.
So raised it one more and it ran fine. Until I ran out of petrol on the drive. It revved much cleaner and pulled lots better.
So new fuel in and it ran crap again.when ithe engine was warm.
So I will move it again which will put it on the top notch.
Think I need to check the mains.

Mine is in the supplement at the back. Doh Thought I had the wrong needles fitted. I have 5L20 which are correct. And my clip position is now in the original place. From the factory. So might try the clip in the top groove.

Just be careful with needle settings, as they have quite an input at lower throttle positions. i.e. if you put the clip in the groove nearest the top end of the needle (so letting the needle drop in further), if you're cruising just inside the power-band with very low throttle input, then that's when you could run lean with nasty results ! . Good luck
