I was informed that this chap could fabricate a tank a few months ago. www.britaliamoto.com/britaliamoto.com/Contact_Us.htmlI never contacted him as I come across a tank from the forum a short while later. Ive seen a replica Supermono he has built and ive no doubt he has the ability to make a complete LC form scratch, let alone a tank.. Give him a shout and see what he says..

You could also try www.lumleyengineering.com we use this guy at work for a fabricating all sorts of items. He builds side car outfits so I am sure a replica LC tank would not be a problem!

I've seen new tanks, copies, for sale on ebay for £250 delivered from India. Now idea about quality but was tempted myself. It's a bit of a risk I suppose as don't know anyone whose had one. I think I might try the home grown ones first.

Remember the immortal words of Prince Charles, while on the 6:00 news describing some brutally bad workmanship? "Who wired this? An Indian?" Ok, thats funny! The India tanks are shiit...

I had a Indian Lambretta...positive it was made from flattened out baked bean tins ( not even Heinz)..the welding looked like the dribble from hooche`s mouth from Turner and hooch the chick flick, not a bad film really....what about Dolly Parton?

yes that would be a better bet.or you could find some one to repair your tank .as in asses what needs cutting out and replacing with good steel and what could be plated up /the under side and any holes to weld/solder up here and there.yes not cheap but worth doing.if it don't go then its going to be a garden ornament or a lounge centre piece.ah modern petrol.some one told me there is stuff /patents locked away by the company that built the lunar rovers ie electric .whats all that about then.

I just contacted the guy in india , he tells me 400 us delivered , im sort of tempted just to take a punt to be honest. Thanks for the feed back chaps but the only reply i got from all ur leads was the Indian guy . Still not sure yet , ive asked him (the indian guy) for more detailed pics of a painted one if he has any. Question ,,,,? are we missing out by assuming they are crap as nobody has actually seen one . Ill keep you all posted . Davey

Meet a guy who makes trail bike tanks out of ali, wanted £3.5k for LC ten tanks Well I'd be happy to pay £350 for a good ali replica tank for my LC. One thing you always loose on ali replica tanks is the pressed seam, so they usually have to make the height a few mm different to compensate.

Wasn't symetrical. Was heavy. Petrol cap won't go in. etc etc... It would take more effort to put it right than it was worth. It was a bit of a punt that didn't pay off, and now I have a LC tank shaped Jerry can. well... I would if the f**king fuel cap would fit! I'll flog you it if you want though. Postage might be a killer from Aus!

It turns out that after i lined my tank and the section i thought hadnt bonded was actually just uncured por 15 that had skinned over which gave the impression of delamination. I work away all week so after getting home last night i checked it and its now solid so happy days i hope and also hoping no need for a new tank but time will tell i guess:))
