Can somebody help me with the grade and initial quantity for the RD 80 LC (1982) fork oil?

front fork oil SAE 10W/30 motor oil Oil capacity 98Cm3 (3.46 imp Oz) fork oil level 371 +/- 6mm from top of the forks. Bit unsure whether thats total oil per leg (100ml?) and the level is a bit big too, as its normally around 100mm on other bikes, but got it all from the manual?? I'd suggest waiting for someone whos done it before.  |

I've got a Yamaha service data book thats say's the same as LC_BOTT has said for the RD80LC (11A) Front Fork 98cm3 per leg.

thanks, its a good starting point! is your manual paper or electronic? It's the old type, 'Genuine Yamaha service manual' BTW, not sure if you know this, but, from your other post, beware if you're getting stuff from Germany, as their 80's were our 125's and possibly why the forks don't fit, you have to get the LC1 (their terminology not mine, when looking on fleabay). They did get the early model, as thats where mine came from. |
