Hi to all out there, my daughter is 17 in 2 weeks and purchased herself a clean and tidy ish 1985 lc, my problem is it will only ocasionally start from kick, it bumps piece of piss within 6 foot, and runs lovely, there plenty compresion, good spark and fuel there, just need one of you good fella's to guide me to what it might be?

Mag windings might need replacing or refurbing with there not been enough from the kickstart and when you push it off the mag will be spinning alot more
Just a possability not gospel lol

Hi,
Could be mag windings
But first to check all wiring connections,especially earthing
May help to make extra earthing. Wire from frame to engine

Does it run good when push started, i remember that unwilling to start on the kick symptoms can be slightly leaking crank seals.

Check the mixture (colour of plug) after a run and if its running weak, stinkwheel will be right, probably left crank seal.
