Hello I am new to the club and wish to buy a standard 350LC. I have been trying to find out info on current values as I don't want to pay over the top for a bike? I have found a potential bike is that is totally standard with matching numbers ( and import from Europe) and comes with original Pro Am kit, etc. it looks exactly what I am looking for. The owner is looking for £5750 and I don't know if this ISP the going rate for a good standard low mileage bike. Can anybody give me some advise on curr t values and if values are increasing of these iconic bikes. Thanks jeremy

Hi Jeremy, Welcome to the forum. Prices have been climbing fast over the last couple of years especially. Good standard bikes seem to sell regularly for £4k plus. I personally would never pay £5750.00 for a 30+ year old bike, although I have spent that sort of money renovating them ! It all depends on what it's worth to you as to how much you pay, but that seems strong to me. Dusty

very strong money for an import IMHO, although I personally don't see any issues with imports (after all they where all imported from Japan originally) , but the UK bikes matching numbers, etc, etc command and fetch stronger money.
As a guide, I know a chap who has just paid £5k for a really good 350 UK LC that is T+T and has had a full engine rebuild last year (by me), loads of other work done on it (by me) and in the last month has just had £1000 spent on it having brakes, suspension, new clutch, lots of NOS parts fitted etc, etc upgraded and overhauled.
So if you look about good bikes are out there for less than that and are UK bikes, however, finding the exact one you want is also difficult, so if you are wanting a 2 stripe red and white, with a pro-am fairing, etc, etc, then its going to be hard to find an exact one that matches your desire !
I know a few of my customers have bought bikes that are the wrong colour for them, and then had them repainted to suit etc, but if your going to do that, then you need to buy at the right price to start with
Get your post count up and then look in the for sale section/wanted section, there is always stuff coming up
Just read some posts, add a comment (or just "+1") if you agree with a previous post and you will soon get to 25 !!

Many thanks for the advice. The one I have found is the colour I want and has the original pro am kin which again is what I am after. It is also standard and original although all the bodywork has been repaired by dream machine. Perhaps I can negotiate the price down a bit towards the £5k mark.
Thanks
Jeremy

That one on the Isle of Man is gorgeous. Fly to the Isle of Man then ferry home sorted Agreed...Its worth some travel time to get a decent LC. As for valuation, as hinted above , 5K+ IS a lot of money to fork out on one however, these things can suck up money like nothing else, my LC was in pretty decent condition when I bought it but the engine needed some attention...and once you start, theres no turning back with these things, for most of us anyway...my "inexpensive" LC has probably swallowed the thick end of 4K in 18 months... With hindsight, it would have been worth paying the extra to buy a fully sorted one, however, i didnt have a huge budget and by at least buying one when i did, before they become unaffordable for me, ive been able to get it how I want, as ive gone along and learnt more about the bikes, which has been a really enjoyable expierence..

I think that prices are definitely moving up, the LC that I bought from D and K last year was top money at £5500 but it is mint, but it will be a little while yet before it goes up in value, I reckon £5500 is the max unless it is a brand new one. Must be matching numbers for that kind of money with tools and handbook.
