Bike is a mk1 rd 125 lc with mk2 engine fitted. Sprocket oil seal is leaking slightly. Am I correct in thinking I can remove sprocket and pull seal from outside then drift a new one into position. Any tips or hints ? Cheers guys

Its worth a shot deffanatly just make sure you dont turn the seal inside out on the sprocket shaft end
Good luck

its worth changing it but might still leak after the shafts tend to wear which cause them to weep slightly

Gary, you can buy a new whole shaft from Norbo for £32 if yours is really worn?

Forget that last post, I was getting confused with the gearbox selector shaft that Norbo sells. Sorry mate.

Thats ok mike. Took it for a spin earlier and had a little trickle come from the seal so its out now and ready for me to purchase a new one. Only this and the regulator to sort then ready for the mot hopefully.

Ideal, show off lol. Wish mine was ready for mot. Split the crank cases yesterday to find a main bearing that had shed one of its balls (that's what partly seized it and caused all the swarf), a worn area on the crank where the seal sits and quite a few chipped teeth+swarf in the gearbox. Luckily I have a spare complete gearbox but my spare crank has been bashed out with a hammer at some stage and bent one of the threaded ends. Some people are right butchers, lol.
