im just starting yo rebuild my motor engine no 12a has ypvs so will it be a rdz motor big end is fooked cheers russ

Mk3 ypvs should be a 2HK not 12a, so i guess you have got a mk1 bottom end and a mk3 top end, a mk 3 has a longer conrod than a mk 1 or 2, but ive seen a mk3 barrel shortened before to take a mk1 rod but i guess it ran like shit, if you take your condod out and measure it i can tell you if its a longer mk3 rod, my mk3 had a mk1 rod in it here is the rebuild video, as you can see it ran like shit and piston did not reach tdc, runs well now with longer rod. your top end should be 1gu barrel

it came in bits will stick the barrel back on and see where piston sits cheers russ

105 mm for the non power valve one and 110 for the power valve rod

5mm thats not alot i mean you wouldnt spot it straight away on length alone ill have to check a crank i have i had it rebuilt with a genuine conrod kit but the spares i got came from a kid who built a power valve engine
