Hi Rang Metmachex today to enquire about getting the spindle and spindle bosses (4 of them)for a 350lc Metmachex arm that has them missing. The fella on the phone said, with post, £190.00 Is it me or does that sound stupidly expensive ? Dusty

That does sound a tad expensive.
I used to have a JMC arm that had, what I believe to be, NK Racing manufactured eccentrics & spindle.
Might be worth a phone call.

Hi Nigel, It's exactly the same as the arm you are selling, which looks very nice . Have you ever had those bosses apart ? Looks like 4 steel or ally discs that just bolt together, hardly cutting edge engineering for that money. Dusty

Hi, Yea, I know. I haven't bought the arm yet, thought I would price up the missing parts first. Glad I did. Just seems a lot of money for the spare parts and will probably give it a miss as the arm Nigel is selling is better value.

Told ya they'd not be cheap! I reckon you could get some eccentrics machined up easily by an engineering firm. They are all the same diameter, just the bore for the spindle varies. The outer pair are counterbored for the allen pinch bolts and the inners are threaded. I know the eccentrics should be keyed to the wheel spindle but it's not essential and this would also mean you could use a plain spindle. Loads of secondhand ones have knackered eccentrics anyway where idiots have hammered the spindle through without it being lined up. Good luck and let me know if you need any measurements

The dia of the spindle that came with my new swinger varied by up to 0.3mm along its length and was a tight fit through the last 50mm of the wheel. Binned it and modified a Yam spindle to fit. Also you spend all that money and have to add your own chain protector nylon block to stop the chain cutting lovely grooves in your £600 swinger. Nice swingers, but for that money they should be just fit and ride.

Hi all, Thanks for the info and offers of help. I'm gonna swerve it as I don't even have an Lc at the mo. Was going to get it for a future project, but the spare parts make it an expensive item to sit on a shelf.
Regards
Dusty
