Hello guys!
What about 125LC tuning?
There's not alot of info about this, other than bolt-on parts like pipes and stuff.
I don't really have any specific questions, I'm pretty much just asking for any tuning tips available to get more power but not lose too much bottom end.
I've done some light porting on my 125LC barrel anyway. Nothing too fancy, unfortunately I don't have one of those 90 degree porting tools to reach the transfer ports, so I'm kind of limited.
So what have I done??
Well, the intake of the barrel has been cleaned up. I couldn't do alot to this area of the cylinder though (and quite frankly I don't even think it's needed anyway when using a 26 mm carb), except porting away a "stair step" at the bottom of the intake port, and a general clean-up of the surfaces. It probably adds a 10th of a hp or something LMAO.
The transfer ports inlets has also been cleaned up (here's pretty much the same deal as the intake - not alot you can/should do, unless you know your s*it and plan to go pretty nuts with the port job).
The exhaust port has been cleaned up. It had a pretty huge "step" around the exhaust gasket. I've reduced this step quite a bit so it should flow better now.
The actual port duration and stuff has not been changed, I've left the port opening (where he piston slides over) entirely stock, the only thing I've ported is everything AFTER the actual port opening at the cylinder wall.
Other than that I have cleaned up the intake manifold (there's two places in the rubber inlet where I imagine you can get very poor air flow, so I rounded these areas off), the reed valves and I added a 26 mm carb from a 350 YPVS.
I dont know how well the carb will work yet, got some jetting to do before I can hopefully call it a success.
Ported to the left, original crap cylinder to the right:
Original exhaust port, notice the "step" at the exhaust gasket.
Step has been reduced:
And here's just a general overview, not that interesting perhaps..
