Hello, On the 10W carb slide does the hole in the needle retaining bracket need to line up with the hole in the carb slide? The needle retaining bracket (the part that holds the throttle cable nipple) can be screwed into the carb slide either with the holes lining up or turned 180 degrees so that the bracket ‘blanks’ the hole in the slide off. Which way should it go? I currently have it so that the holes line up as per the picture below but not sure if I need to rotate the bracket 180 degrees so it blanks the hole in the slide off. Any advice would be greatly received..

I had this dilema last night myself. Personally,i fitted it so the holder covers the hole just in case it caused an air leak. I dont think it really matters though as when you fit the cable holding clip that will cover the hole.

Just had a look at a set of 31K slides and the cable holder bracket holes are offset and will only fit one way. With the holes lined up for the two screws this leaves the hole exposed.

Cheers chaps,
So based on what Tone says it looks like that hole should be exposed instead of blanked off. It seem weird that they would put a hole in the slide if it should be blanked off. Not really sure what that hole is for though. I haven't riden the bike since I adjusted the needle height so I might just wait and see if anyone else replies to this thread hopefully confirming the hole should be exposed and not blanked off.
Thanks again for your helpful advice.

The hole needs to be exposed. The cable securing clip doesn't completely bloke the hole. Possibly to avoid pressure build up when slide moves up?. The carb cap has 3 rubbers that help take care of air leaks, worth checking they're not perished whilst you're in there. The main o ring inside the cap. A rubber washer and rubber boot above the cap.

Does anyone know where I can get a new o ring, washer and rubber cap for my 10W carb? I’ve also noticed that the rubber seal on my choke plunger has perished, I can’t seem to find the rubber on its own, you have to buy the whole choke plunger assembly (£25). Any one know if the rubber seal/cap can be bought on its own?
Cheers
