I know this is random but trying to locate if I have a mark 1,2 or 3 RD..?
All I have is the VIN number and wondered if there was a way of checking via this as I need to ensure I order the correct part.
cheers in advance

what are the first 3 letters/numbers? Most parts the same on mk2/3 and even some parts from mk1 are the same on mk2/3. If you ring yamaha motor uk in surrey, ask for customer service, give them your chassis number they will tell you what year it was made and imported,if it is a uk model that is. Hope this helps

Are you talking about your Red bike? Which should be a 12A-1xxxxx MK1(UK) Then in 1986 came the 1GM- MK2(UK) 1GV- 1GX- 1GU- MK2 YPVS (Japan,Europe) Good write up here: www.tradeclassicbikes.com/page9.htm

Thx guys yes it was the red bike and its a 12A-1 thought it was Mk1 but as I'm having to buy a second hand disc I wanted to check before getting one. Gutted that can't get a new one but Yamaha not making them anymore...
