i recently brought a 1987 rd 125 ypvs with a re-built engine and its knocking on each stroke of the piston and keeps cutting out, just wounding because its re-built does the carb need setting up again would like a second opinion thanks

could be the piston hitting the head or head gasket, carb wise they can be temperamental as well

Well if its rebuilt its not big end knocking so id tend to think top end as already said piston hitting head gasket may me remove the plug shine a torch down the plug hole and look at the piston crown see if its got a silver ring around the piston top for hitting something .

Ok thankyou and I out to for a ride and notised u blew up my front and rear indicators and it has done the 3 times now, would u have advise?

yes it is the top end i had a look at this one. you will need to do the top end which is not a big job.
