Bored yesterday so decided to start putting the TZR running gear into my LC.
TZR250 2ma forks, mudguard and yokes (with an LC stem pressed in), upside down 2ma clip-ons, TZR125RR wheels, standard clocks with a farbricated bracket tapped into the top yoke, converted to 520 chain and sprockets to make it easier to line up - had to put a spacer behind the front sprocket to space it off a few mm, running 15/41 renthal sprockets so it should be lively, chain and sprockets left over from motocross racing, so it will need new ones once I know its all ok.
Rear master cylinder off a 2001 R1, bracket from NK and pedal modified by NK.
It looks really straight forward and it is I suppose, there is no rocket science in there but its time consuming, having all the gear needed to fabricate brackets and a decent selection of bolts and bits and pieces is essential too. Took me about 5hrs to get to this point....including lots of brews and cursing when things didn't line up.
I'm waiting for the brakes back from being refinished so no brakes on it yet, and the pipes are off at the moment too so I can put my motocross stand under it and raise it up to work on. Calipers will be refinished in satin black.
As it stands I've lost about an inch of height at the back and about an inch and a half at the front. Obviously I can mess about with that though.
Needs cosmetic work to tidy it up, paint and new tyres, probably Pirelli Diablo Rosso II (110/70 & 140/70).
Few little bits and pieces to work out yet, not sure how I'm going to fit a torque arm, probably a short one with a welded bracket onto the swingarm. Needs a new 39mm steering damper fork bracket.
Then just mess about with geometry.
