I took my lc 350 exhausts to Camcoat in Warrington today. Very helpful guy says he can have them ready in around two weeks. He assures me that the ceramic coating (satin black) can withstand 1000 degrees C! I will post some pics when I have them back. At £160 plus vat for the pair I think that's a very good price. www.camcoat.com/

The finish looks like a cross between black chrome and paint, must be a kind of stove enammel

It will be interesting to see the finished article. I have found the re-finishing of parts never quite come up to the standard of the original finishes. Maybe this process could be of use on switch gear and side cases, I'm sure it will be less prone to the cracking encountered when using fastners.

Yep, they look good. The finish looks the same as the original finish in the pic, is it?

In strong sunlight they are not completely jet black. I was told this (although when I saw them I had no reason to ask), they informed me they will get better blacker with age. In normal light they do look as original as I can remember.

The thing is that its a long lasting finish. That's what first attracted me to it.
