How do most people repair the ends of the power valves to remove the play at the joiner between the barrels?
I had a pair sleeved and then machined back to the correct shape and dimensions before but this is obviously quite time consuming and expensive to get done.
Was wondering if people had a simpler way of doing it other than replacing them.
Thanks

Built mine up with weld then re-shaped . Is a pain staking process re-harping though.

Was tigged mate. Not sure how good that limo weld is but watched a vid on utube and it looks the dogs dangles . I'm thinking of getting new centre joiner and modding it to put couple of pinch screws to clamp to valves as system set up leaves it pron to wear.

Hmmm, now I put my brain into gear just remembered that we have got a posh new ally mig welder at work.
Might have to let the welders have a go at a really knackered set to see how they get on.
Sounds too easy though....

Got mine welded up then milled flat. Joint piece avaiabke from Yamaha. I only needed the bottom half and yam list it as two parts. The guy who welded it turned a brass plug to go in the hole in the end to stop it blowing though.

Built mine up with that liquid metal stuff (supposed to be strong enough to drill and thread - get it from auto parts suppliers) then filed down to shape. Hasn't been used yet only ran engine up on bench so far - but appears to work ok. Should have bike on road soon, so will see how long it lasts.
