Hi Does anyone know if you can take the RD125LC mk3/tzr clocks apart and clean the inside of the clock glass face, as mine has a slight haze on it and it could do with a clean, there are 2 small screws on the back of each, rev counter and speedo. thought i would ask first before i end up with disaster,
thanks mudguts

You need to prise off (slightly damaging) the glass surround (black metal bit) from the back with a small thin screwdriver (electrical screwdriver or similar). Bit by bit all the way around, then you can pop off the glass. The surround will now look nibbled at, you have to then seal it back with a blunt ended tool and hammer. It's annoying, as I've got some nice low milers with a little bit of haze, and you can see the swirl in what looks like the factory workers last going over with a cloth.

Did mine with great results, best to strip the casing, loom and temp gauge to release the clocks, not forgetting the tiny Philips screw in the trip knob, I then nibbled the black metal rings off with some small long nose pliers, the slower the better, this then real eases the seal and the glass plus workings so you can give it all the full service & clean, reassembly is the opposite and I made a small tool to roll the lip back over the clock , ten re zinced the housing fittings and black polished the casings, a few pics before and after, hope this helps??

The speedo and rev counter are near mint apart from a swirl on the speed glass inside, i will have to keep a lookout on ebay etc, perhaps a forumite may be able to help, i got a mint tail fairing for £25, the clocks only cost a tenner, thanks for the advice and pics on the cleaning, if i cant find one by xmas i will remove mine and try to refurb it.
thanks

I can break a nice set of clocks if I get some offers for the bits.

No, theres a tiny screw in there. Be careful not to round it off.
