Hello all just found the forum and enjoying reading the ideas and advice great to find a gang of 2 stroke loving lc junkies. I am a lover of my LC however I am slowing building my knowledge as I rebuild it. To this I ask your help, its a 250 lc I have raced with CRMC( cracking set of people) at the last meet I did I blew the engine so decided to rebuild her from the bottom up. I have come to the engine and have to replace the stator and flywheel as it had a dx crank in and now has an lc one back in. I have looked all over for stator and flywheel (reasonably priced), however no joy. Does a YPVS one fit as they seem easier to get hold of. People have suggested a one off from an electrical company that manufacture bespoke race ones, however I am too tight to spend 350 on one of those. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

you shoulkd be able to use one, only difference is the green wire on stator goes into the black wire on the LC loom, they all have a low/high speed 3 wire power suply to the CDI, you just need to work out the colours if they are diffetrent. You would then have a spare pulse wire for an electronic tacho if you wanted one too. A Banshee Quad one might do the job too. I think you could have used LC outer webs and kept the splined center webs.

The YPVS one will not have the slots in the stator, so will not be able to be adjusted to the correct setting. Andy Jones ("Moist" on forums) breaks LCs, so would have one available. PM me if you need his details.

Sorry, should have added you would need a CDI for stator running 34.5deg of advance or a programmable unit. I often forget I'm running a YPVS engine with F2 CDI on my LC and not everyone else is. You could get a programmable CDI from Zeeltronic or IgniTec and will improve you bottom/mid rang loads which would help you an a race bike alot pulling out of bends.
