Pattern cables should be avoided although I think Norbo does good copies.

check the spliter ,there should be a plastic disc that holds the cables .sometimes this is loose and the cables can wander?

Throw the pattern cable in the bin NOW they're dangerous, even if you can get it work ok it's just as likely to stick in the fully open position when your riding the bike, I know from experience If you cant find a genuine one Norbo sells good patten ones failing that if you have an old OEM one & send it to Venhill they will make you a new one

Likewise pattern YPVS cables - they stretch

I fitted a new Genuine one to my LC and never had any probles. Kept the one I took off which was a patten one and stuck it on the YPVS LC when I built it as it worked fine, been on it 3 years now and been perfect. However if you can strech to it, get a Gen Yam one.

You must have had a good quality pattern one then as the majority are rubbish

Ive always been surprised to not have a problem with it, It was on the bike when I got it in 2006, Ive lubed it now and again and its been fine. As I needed to buy one for the YPVS LC,Ithought I would give it a try, and dont see the point in paying about £80 for another one while it works. Never had problem getting carbs balanced and getting oil pump adjusted correctly. I have no idea who made it.

I bought one of Norbo and it has, and is still working fine. The only thing I did was make sure it was well lubed before fitting.

Turns out it was bit of a larger problem, the part of the threaded adjuster that pushes againts the outer cable had worn away and the cable had slid about 10mm further in and oil pump inner cable was overly slack and way short of the oil flow there should be. Had a Gen Yam F2 cable with knackered throttle end, so stripped it an swapped the oil pump cable. Sorted! Just got price for a new LC throttle cable and its £86 now! As its working it can stay as it is.

What I did notice with the genuine one was the cable ends are very secure in the splitter, so they dont pull out leaving the sliders up and bike reving its tits off.

Genuine for me as well, I bought a pattern one (can't remember where from) but no end of problems dumped it and fitted a genuine cable.
