And so starts this years craving for more power. Was lean on the dyno at the top end so upped 2 sizes but dropped the needle a bit. Fitted some Banshee race coils to replace the 30 year old original And had a nightmare fitting the V force 4 reeds. Not them that caused the problem but wanted to stick with 10mm spacers to get as long an inlet as possible and clear the boost port. Problem is that as well as spacing back due to the angle of the barrels it also moves them up meaning the cable elbow clashes with the frame and stops them fitting. Heated up the elbows and bent some more which helped a little but ended up taking 2 - 3mm off the carb top where the adjusters screw in. Still tight but now fit. Ended up fitting a steering damper as could be a bit lively over anything other than a billiard table. Nice fit, tucks in nicely so no damper rod poking your knee. Really pleased with the RZR Jap spec painted tank. Was going to be my spare but now my favorite. And then to make it look faster put on a billet oil pump cover Been a busy couple of days, can you tell my wife is away? Steve

I'd be interested to see how much gain the v force 4's give back to back. Must be more with the larger carbs anyway...

I need to stop reading threads like this, just as I decide to stop trawling the internet for parts to custom my LC I see a special like this and change my mind again. That looks very nice and still inkeeping with the lines of the original bike. 75 rwbhp!!! That would be impressive.

You will soon learn there is no end, there will always be something else you want.
Hopefully 75 should not be that difficult, running a tad over 73 just now and was running lean.
Just had it out for a test, fueling seems good. No stuttering on neutral throttle and a lot happier on the motorway holding 7 - 8k.
Now revving clean all the way through and has a habit of bouncing of the 10.5k rev limiter with no power tail off so seems better.

You will soon learn there is no end, there will always be something else you want. I know, but overall I've decided to keep the LC for what it is. I know there are a lot of improvements I could make but ultimately I could just buy a CBR600RR if I wanted that sort of power, they weigh about the same as an LC as well. Saw a new Triumph 675 naked bike today, looked very nice. Doesn't stop me admiring the specials and yours looks very very nice, but I think I'll keep my LC more or less stock....at least until I'm tempted by more pictures....
