just had new plates and springs fitted as there was a bit of clutch slip all gone now but when you pull clutch in and pop it in first it trys very slightly to pull forward and neutral is harder to find all adjusted correctly will it get better with a few miles on her? ie does it need to bed in a bit

That sounds like warped plates. It could just be the fact that the engine is cold though. Both 125's and 350's suffer from this problem (and probably the vast majority of other bikes out there). If you just cold start the engine and slam in 1st gear as usual, the bike will inevitably stall as the gearbox oil is cold and makes the clutch all sticky.

A lot of people are having this clutch drag problem on there LC's. New plates of course will be thicker so have reduced the clearance within the clutch assembly. I alway confirm the clutch operation prior to fitting the outer casing - as draining the coolant and oil is a real pain. I know that the cable adjustment has to be spot on with the lever alignment c**k on at the engine side and I have found that the pressure plate centre adjuster needs it be adjusted until it contacts the rod/ball bearing, but I never back it off any. I would put a few miles on the bike and hopefully it's just the new plates & springs settling in - good luck!.

thanks guys only had chance to do 10 miles on her so far, but it did seem to be a little better after that, more miles and time will tell.
