I am sure somewhere reference to removal of the emulsion tubes had been discussed but after searching I cannot find it.....so before I take on replacing them which should be an easy job.. ...any advice appreciated....do they come out from the top or below?...sure I read about unscrewing the main jet a little and giving a slight tap to release which makes me think they slide out down through the carb....

Hi Bossy, yes the tubes push up through the top of the carb. As you've said loosen off main jet a little. If it needs a little tap, mains jets are a lot cheap than the tubes to replace - never had to tap one that hard that it cattled the main jet.

Yep, as above they tap inwards towards the inside of the carb. I've found the easiest way is to remove the main jet, remove the seating washer and then screw the jet back in. Use the handle of a screwdriver to tap it in until the emulsion tube is loose enough to remove fully. When you refit them, make sure the slot is lined up with the keyway inside the carb.
