F2 power jets Gary have 1ua stamped on them somewhere. Have 185 mains in. I think it could be low fuel as I never had the problem before so will fill it then see. Have to give her about 4000 revs to pull away or she bogs down and stalls.

If it wasn't doing it before then the settings should be ok. Must be something simple.

Yes will check everything over again. Does seem more smoky on the right hand side then the left when travelling. Left side went bang last time. The only other thing I have done is move the needles up 1 notch so the cir clip is on the second one from the top of the needle as per Norbo could that effect it.

I assume you had them on the top notch so basically lifted the needle to make richer?. my lc2 is now bogging and needs 3k plus this happened after I lowered the needle ie. moved clip one notch higher on the needle. Fine tune of the air mixture screws did help slightly but ended going back to standard groove for now.....

Hi Bossy, I had them on the top notch originally but after it went bang I was told to higher them up so now on the second to top notch. I discovered that the aluminium balance pipe had a very small hole in it. I filled it full of water and it was drip drip etc. The hole was underneath on the bend to the left cylinder that went bang so I'm guessing this was the problem along with not enough oil being pumped through. But that's sorted now thanks to arrow. So then guys what you all recon put it on the top notch?

I did a very stupid thing with the balance pipe....changed a boost bootle over to my original alu balance pipe and only pushed it down to the fist ridge...then went out for a 40 ml ride hitting red line few times and cruising at very high rev...shit myself tanking down a duel carriageway when it ran onto reserve thought it had holed piston...then got home and realised that balance pipe should be pushed at least another 1/2 inch into the blocks.......think I was very lucky.... Hope you get carbs sorted I am having same s sue just gone rich with needle but yet to try

Looks nice mate. With any luck you will be fine for many years to come now . Once set up correct there is no reason you should have any trouble again .

Thanks for the kind words, hopefully it should be ok now, although i am a little bit apprehensive about using it or going anywhere too far until i get break down insurance, just in case lke, as i took a long time to put it together last time and was mega pi**ed off when it let go as it shouldnt have, but guessing with the balance pipe having a hole in it and it not getting enough oil then it was probably inevitiable really. Going to take the needles out and higher them up to the top notch and see if that clears the bog down bit. What does putting the needle down or up actually do?

Makes the mid range weaker.

Moving the clip higher up weakens the mixture in the mid Range, by making the needle obscure the fuel flow from the main jet. Lower the clip to richen the mixture. Also the taper on the needle has an effect, but not as much. Different needles allow even finer tuning.

Well bike all rebuilt BUT it bogs down all the time. It will idle no problem, but hold the throttle at 3000 rpm and it will just flutter and die. It's worse if you take it out on a run as when you pull off you have to rev it to 3-4000 as it will die on you. The needle was originally on the 2nd ridge but I put it on the top clip to see if it would clear BUT IT HASN'T. going on holiday tomorrow night for a couple of weeks take my mind off it. It ran fine before the blow up, carbs have been cleaned and are fine. Mains are 185 as per power jet f2 settings.
Can anyone else shed any light on my problem.
Cheers.
