After using the rebuild of the LC2 as a form of physiotherapy after my accident in 2011 I took her for an MOT today. Straight through. Not even an advisory. That must mean I'm not too bad with a spanner these days. . Only issue I have is the speedo doesn't work!! The mileage bit works but no actual speed is recorded. It was a KPH bike and I found a MPH clock and just swapped them so maybe the cable isn't quite right? There is some head scratching going on but I'll have to get it sorted. It's annoying more than anything and not really ideal as we're surrounded by 30MPH limits and hidden speed cameras!! . I've got to wait until Monday for the road tax but I couldn't resist a little spin through the lanes and then to the town centre to self admire in the shop windows. She did turn a few heads, even a couple of youngsters had to look closely. Smug or what?

check the needle is not stuck to the stop
the stop is rubber and can become tacky so the needle does not move
simon5 will do an overlay decal for the kmh speedo that changes the readout to mph, just remember to sand of the km readings so the backlight shines through and you do not get a ghost of the old markings.
think last one i got was £7

I would like to announce I'm a spanner wielding guru of the 2 stroke world as I've fixed the speedo fault, but that would be a massive lie!! Not sure how I've done it (it may have been tacky as suggested) but I took the clocks apart and checked to see that the needle moved and then attached it to a drill and gave it a whirl. Hey presto it now works. Trouble is with no road tax I dare not go for a proper ride but it reads up to 25mph in a private car park. . Whilst I was in the man cave I fitted the light tint screen I got from shop Norbo and a rather nice period fork brace that I had made. Roll on Monday so I can get my tax and go for a proper bimble.
