The bikes are not fussy as to who makes the oil. Best to avoid most JASO FB oils as they don't keep the motor as clean as FC, FD oils.
Specs should be on the back of the bottle.

Is it best to use fully synthetic oil Not necessarily, but I do. Some oils that are top spec (FD) can be semi's. For the certification, oils that are FD spec are run in the test engine for 3 hours, the test for the FB and FC oils are run for 1 hour in the test engine.

Motul 710 is one of the best dedicated 2T oils money can buy. I use Valvoline Syn Power 2T, which is just as good.

I run Putoline TT sport oil and coolant and gearbox oil as some one on here said it is one of the best you can buy. I'm using it all the time and as iv just rebuilt it for the second time I'm using some good oil in it.

I get my 2-stroke oil from a motor factor. The oil pump sends the oil into the motor at an average value of around 30:1 if the bike does 35 miles to the gallon then from full to when the light comes on is in the region of 280 miles. 36 litres/30 = 1.2 litres of oil

Yep, about 1/2 a litre left when the light comes on. Thanks. The things you forget some 27 years after having had one! Thanks God for the internet (and expert advice like your good selves) when it comes to these things eh..
