I'm trying to replace the fork seals on my YPVS N1 and it doesn't have the screw on top caps, it has the recessed type tops with no nut and just a straight vertical air valve showing. I'm pretty sure these are non standard for an N1 so they might be from an F2???
How on earth are you supposed to remove the tops to get out the springs and refill the oil? does the cap push in to reveal a circlip or something?

Looking at the parts list it looks like the N1 should have a large hex top cap that unscrews. Sounds like you have the F2 or N2 forks that need the top cap compressing to reveal a circlip you have to remove.

Use 2 hands to push the cap down against the spring, use a socket or pipe or something that fits over the valve.
Use your 3rd & 4th hands to pry out the circlip
Gently release the cap, swear a lot & spend the next 30 minutes looking for the bits that have shot off into the recesses of the garage somewhere.
In my experience anyway.

Thanks! I thought that might be the case. I'll order my spare pair of hands from Yambits tonight then. Whilst I'm at it I might try and return my skinned knuckles.....never did get on with them.
