Got the LC home after an epic journey to collect it. Its tidy enough, just been stood for a couple of years, there were an incredible amount of spider eggs all over it. Cables were very dry and tight, one front caliper seized and one on its way. And a horrible red swingarm and tank decals. Attachments:

So it was in the garage, pint mug of tea and the swingarm came out, was cleaned up, primed and left for the morning. Cables cleaned and lubed, then the calipers off and stripped, had a hell of a job getting one piston out but its all sorted now, no more sticking but really they need a complete overhaul. I reckon I'll get away with it for the summer with regular greasing and cleaning. Attachments:

And just over 24hrs later its back together, hopefully in a condition that will get it through an MOT. The swingarm back to black, everything lubed, greased and oiled. And the tank decals removed. All the bushes and bearings seemed in good nick, so thats a bonus. Attachments:

quick work icky ;D have ya checked ya oil pump ;)ready for a summer of fun Akshirly no, I didn't check it. I intend to get it down to Arrow at some point to have him work his magic, but I haven't even looked at it yet. To be honest its 20yrs since I worked on an LC and I'm not really sure what to look for anyway. I had a 15 minute ride of it and it didn't go bang ;D Bit smokey to start with but then ok and although I didn't do a plug chop I have checked them and they're a lovely tan colour. Apparantly the last bloke to own this knew what he was doing and although he must have been colour blind he appears to have known how to set the carburation up. I've heard of people putting clear oil pipes on, but the oil clings to the inside of the pipe anyway and so surely its not always obvious that the oil has stopped flowing?

Nice bike. The 4LO is a real hoot to ride. Clear or black oil lines, whatever. Once oil is in the pipes you cant see the flow anyhow.

Once oil is in the pipes you cant see the flow anyhow. Thats what I figured and in my opinion black pipes look best.
