It's a DT YPVS but same as RD
Been trying to get to the bottom of it's running problems and while taking off the flywheel I noticed there is some play on the LH main bearing.
I take it this is not normal.

Main bearing is gone takes crank seal out as well would explain you're running problems I did fear it was f*cked. Bike will run most of the time. Started it this morning and fired up no problem. Took it out and would not rev well but if you caught it right you could get it to about 8k but rest of the time struggles to get to 6k. Worse when cold, could not get it over 25mph Managed 2.5 miles before spluttering then backfiring and stopping. Had to push it the last 1/4 mile home. Would not start again so left it in the garage for a few hours before a mate came round so went to have a look with him. Bloody thing started and runs but not revving as same as before. Does this when it feels like it so no doubt the bearing and seal need attention but can't get why it stops running as if a switch has been flicked. Did get it running once without tank on and as soon as I fitted it it cut out. Took it back off and it ran. Also if it was running if you moved the CDI it stopped but can't find dodgy wiring. Got a complete NOS stator on the way. Bearing and seal explains the sh1t running but not the cutting out and misfiring. Also it stinks when it is running and is smokey. When running if you pull the choke on it makes no difference which is strange. Losing the will to live with it. Only has 16k on it, hoped motor was fine. Steve

Replace main bearings and seals, clean the carb (especially the pilot jet, making sure it isn't blocked) and you might have a proper running bike. Also, you might wanna clean out the tank and filter, sometimes there's crap at the bottom, blocking the fuel flow. It's not a common problem but I've heard of blocked tank cap vent holes causing fuel starvation (as there will be vacuum in the tank after a while if the tank cap vent is blocked). Norbo have bearings for £10 each, I can't find the seals but they are most likely there somewhere, and if you can't find them just email him. homepage.ntlworld.com/ultimatelccrazy/

Already got a set of bearings sourced and will get seals from norbo.
Just need to get it running enough to mot before dvla get sh1tty with my c and e 386 and refuse to register.
Then it will get an engine strip.
Bagged a NOS stator and a used cdi of ebay so that should rule out electrics. Already had the carb stripped and cleaned.
Play is not too bad and no rumbling so hopefully last till mot, just hacked as it only has 16k on it.
