Hi, just rebuilt my Yamagamma and have managed to get it running for a few seconds, then a couple of things happen. 1. There is a loud backfire 2. The power valve cycles just before the engine cuts out
Are the problems linked? It has a dyno coil fitted 3 ohms(green) and the carbs have been checked/synchronised
Cheers Rob

First fault found wrong bowl on carbs, moved the one with the drilling to choke side now. Still doesn't want to run, it will fire then cut out Rob

Coil resistance is massively too big should be around 0.33ohms max I have a .7 ohms in mine which is a bit vloser to the mark

Was it the coil that was stopping it from running ?

Hi, it came with the coil fitted but I will investigate its suitability Fault 2 was the spark plug lead arching onto the head near the coil end, brand new leads from vehicle wiring products, so I fitted a new Taylor lead and it starts and runs really well now Rob
