1 st ride out and the pv has decided to revert back to not pulling into the power band in the top 2 gears..... Have kennys pipes on so it goes well but it appears to have lost some mid range due to my tweaking, I have installed banshee coils and a boost bottle over winter..me thinking latter could be problem.. Will I ever get this sorted..... Twisting throttle at say 5 k in 4th does nothing. Sure it wasn't like this last year.....was going to try it but it failed mot ...see other post.....pipes got through great even though you couldn't hear what was being said during check due to the noise and he had to switch it off ;D

I had a similar problem with my YPVS, it used to run ok in the lower gears reving out ok but 5th and 6th the power faded, My problem turned out to be worn crank seals. If the temperature gauge rises when this its low on power then it could be crank seals.

Never thought of this. But when it hits the power band it just takes off and has very strong power right to the red line so I hope this is not the case.
Sure it's jetting. Hoping if anyone on here has a standard k31 with kennys pipes or similar and what carb setting they have settled on...gone up 2 on main and top end feels ok

Sounds like carb set up Bossy - running rich. Try dropping your needles a groove at a time to see if that helps. Got Microns on mine and that sorted my problem out in the top two gears. Or loose the boost bottle and try as is!.

Well I dropped the needle 1 notch and it still felt a little flat. infact the sort of popping/missing sound at lower revs appeared louder and set off bogged upto 2k....lost the boost bottle put original back ..
Now gone the other way and raised needle to top groove but our fab weather stopped me testing.....am I ever going to sort this out..
After trying above think I may then drop needle to lowest groove and see what it does......do get concerned about killing the motor....
Now starting to think could it be the needles 30k its done could they be worn?

I'm currently rebuilding my motor after I blew a hole in the rhs piston - my own fault, instead of nursing it home with a leaking head gasket, thrashed it home at 100+ for about 20 miles before it let lose. I'm going to replace my needles and needle jets as like you I think ( I know) they are worn.
