Couple of questions:
Got the mk2 running well sort off - she's a bit intermittent at the mo.

Does the rectifier normally heat up?

When she's running if I disconnect the battery and put a meter across its returning around 2 volts
When I do the same with the lights on she's returning 13v is the right??

With bat still connected test voltage at bat with engine running I think it should be about 14 v at 4000. Rectifiers do get hot/warm

I've got flickering clock lights,neutral & oil, there solid when ignition on but not running, I can lose them when kicking over, and when she runs and revs they either flicker or go out. No lose wires in to connections, no flickering when wiggling loom.
I'm thinking this could be a flywheel/mag issue? Am I on the right lines?.

Any advice appreciated.

i had a similar prob with mine mate turned out to be the negative wire at battery end really took some finding has these things do sometimes.
