hi guys , i at the moment am looking at a 78 rd 125 dx to buy and restore. the bike is in a state but the motor turns on the kick and there is compression and has done according to the speedo 150000 miles ish. wondering what i need to look out for with this and is the points and condenser ignition system a pain to set up or is there a cdi kit that could be fitted. the bike is all complete from what ive seen but will need some parts and would like know if anyone here has any contacts etc etc apart from norbo of course.
thanks all
Dave

They are harder to find parts for than the 250/400s, mudguard are a nightmare. The expert on these is Dave Cumbria. As for the ignition I would leave it as is, I find once the points are set up they are very reliable.

Hi Dave, make sure you have a really good battery fitted. Unlike the Lc (for example) the bike can run like a pig if the battery is not A1.
