That I got a bit too giddy on the way home, and that I have a ignition problem! Any ideas uncle Norbs? Also prices for a new piston/rings/small end bearing? Wot an arse. At least it didnt seize and chuck me into a wall!!

If you havent damaged the barrels you could get away with a second hand piston and new rings on that side and a new top set . I would have the timing looked at. That has been eating away at the piston top for a while i would think . That holl did not just happen just got to thin and went threw. it wants to be set at 1.8 for optimum setup with unleaded .

Right, I have no idea why this may have happened so I need some suggestions. Everything was fine up until the seizure 12 months ago, (remember, that was caused by a blocked oil jet) Now, I have not changed anything (jets/needles etc) and up until that blockage it withstood lots of thrashing without any problems. Could that original seizure have knocked the timing out? As I have noticed that the l/h piston has a light melt on top as well. I am going to replace the inlet rubbers to eradicate any air leaks past the boost bottle as that is the only new edition engine wise and new gaskets all round. IDEAS PLEASE.

Yes that is a very real and valed point after a seizure the crank can be out of wack, this may well have contributed to it if not coursed it alltogether . If it is out then bit by bit it would eat your piston tops untill in munched all the way threw.

Right, but this has happend in just one day as I have hardly done 30 miles since the seizure. Any tips on timing it up and what else could it be? It was all Steves fault anyway, he MADE me go faster! ;D ;D

It was all Steves fault anyway, he MADE me go faster! ;D ;D You need to set it up with a DTI (clock) Good point about the crank being slightly out after the seize - mine did that years ago. With a bit of patience, you can check it all when its in the bike. Pm me if you struggle - you can borrow mine.

Didnt see that one Steve. Gotta be one of two things tho, Timing and/or twisted crank. I dont think an air leak would do that so quickly and I dont think it was fuel coz she was going well over the tops. If you find it give us a shout.
