Hi,
Looking at an 84 DT 125 LC that has been imported from Germany. Seller says it is a 10V model which I thought was RD 125 LC
Any advice welcome

Hi Steve,
I don't know much about DT125LC's but 10V is not an RD125. Mk1 RD125lc's are 10W.
Someone will be along with knowledge of DT's but I always thought 10V WAS a DT125lc.
Cheers
Andrew

Yeah 10W is unrestricted MK1 RD125LC and 10V DT125LC
They both share some 10V parts though, like cylinder head and engine casings for example.

Thanks for that guys.
Another few questions:
1) should it be matching numbers
2) how much hp should it put out
3) am I right in thinking it is non powervalve
4) what should I pay for a tatty 1984 with mismatched body work and a bust side panel and 30k miles? It is taxed and tested.

I nearly bought one a few weeks ago, unrestricted is 16hp compared to 21 from an RD, restricted the same at 12hp. yes as usual it should have matching numbers too. early ones are non PV, later ones 'I believe' were locked open (not too sure on this) The one I looked at was about £1K and considered well overpriced on the DT forum (got him down to approx £800 in the end)

Mk1 dts were non power valve. The main restriction at the time was restrictive washer in the neck of the main exhaust pipe then a re jet! I had a guianelli full system on the bike I restored. There are plenty of parts still available from Yamaha. Some plastics are getting few and far between tho!
