Thanks to forum members furnishing me with a wiring diagram (many thanks oldelsieboy & marsbar) I have traced my ignition problem down to the coil - there is no resistance on the hf side. Where is the best place to get a replacement? I have seen some aftermarket ones on ebay, has anyone tried them? I could probably pick up a second hand one easily enough but it may be better to get a new replacement if possible.

I also have them fitted to my N2, the difference in spark when I was building my engine was phenomenal, the spark on the stock coil was very weedy, Banchee coils the spark was about 2mm and as others have said they do seem to run better with them.

I have a set of the Banshee coils and will be doing a back to back run of them against stock coils at the weekend, so will post up the difference
It was meant to be this weekend but my mate was upto his neck in racing bikes so the dyno wasn't free unfortunately
The spark is definately better that's for sure

I too have the Banshee coils from Norbo, the spark is visibly bigger and fatter and the bike seems to run better. It now starts first kick from cold instead of second. The real proof of the difference will be when muttsnuts has his on the dyno.

I am ordering some from Norbo today. They look easy enough to fit too, with only a small bracket to make. It looks like they are wired in series in the "how to" pic. Is this correct? - Its not completely clear in the picture.

Thanks mutts - that makes sense now - they are wired in parallel.

I've just done a back to back test on a dyno wtih the standard coil pack and the Banshee ones from Norbo and there is definately a gain throughout the rev range, overall my bike gained 1BHP throughout the rev range but more imporantly it revs much cleaner,. throttle response is so much crisper but also the bike starts a whole lot easier as well and my bike has always been a 1st/2nd kick starter

yeah, I should get some commission of Norbo now !! - in my dreams anyway !!
Still, it was good to see it for real, even my mate who has been doing this stuff for more years than even I care to think about said it was a noticeable difference.

Certainly worked a treat on my LC - started easily after a long lay up and you could definitely see the difference in the spark. I've not ridden it yet (as I need to rebuild the brakes) but I will let you know. As i don't run an airbox I fitted them in tandem rather than making a bracket to fit them side by side and they went in easily - I will take some photos when it gets warm enough for me to go out in the shed!!. Many thanks for all your help and to Norbo for such a prompt service .

Mutts maybe worthwhile knocking up some brackets for Norbo. I am sure he will trade you something for them ;-)

Dragging up an old thread here guys I know, but does anyone do these looms for the Banshee Coils? I got a set of Norbo a while ago, but haven't fitted them yet as I am not much good with anything elektrickery Cheers Steve
