Hi, the Rocket gold star was the large bike to have from the BSA range until the triples came out. The rocket was the bigger brother to both the 350 and 500 gold stars. The Rep means it is a replica and not a genuine one, so the price should be quite a lot lower. The best place to find out is on the BSA owners website and they should be able to give your more detailed information. Rob

From wot u saying rob is it safe 2 say that the 350 and 500 and 650 are the same bike but the 650 is the rocket gold star? Thanks Nope. The 350 gold star DBD32 and the 500 gold star DBD34 are single cylinder were as the RGS is a twin base on the BSA A10 engine, total different engines. Both the 350 and 500 should have RRT2 gearboxes (close ratio) don't know about the RGS but I would imagine they should also have the RRT2 gearbox also. Looking at the picture the bike has a single carb and I think the RGS should be twin carb. Don't think the front brake is correct. All the above is subject to a failing memory, it was a long time ago since I had these type of bikes.

Look to me to be a Road Rocket.
RGS I thought were silver, genuine ones are £20,000 plus, Reps £7.500-£12.000

The 350 and 500 Goldstars were racing bikes put on the road, they dominated everything for many years. The Rocket Goldstar was a road going bike that used the history of the smaller ones to sell, although it was very good in its on right. It is definitely a minefield and if you are after one, it is worth speaking to a marque expert as the differences can be small, but these alter the cost in a massive way. Rob

my dad and uncle know a little about brit bikes, the one in your pic is exactly the same as me dads which is an A10 super road rocket(me dads) denoted by the RR at the start of the engine number but i remember him saying it has a different head making it the super RR.i just done the google thing and gettin loads of bikes with clip ons and gold/chrome tanks.there is alot of different variants in the A10 so u need to do your homework as already stated m8.me dad is thinkin of sellin his RR as he can't ride it no more.

That bike looks a bitsa. By bitsa I mean made of parts or something has been messed with. The front and rear hubs are from different periods of production. I think they mean its a super rocket rep as they were red. You might get a better advise about the bike here. www.classicbikeforum.co.uk. To my mind the bike would only be worth a couple of grand as its not one thing or the other.
