This is my winter project that will no doubt stretch out well in to next summer .. the silver frame and green paintwork are going to be put back to the standard colours, with an engine strip and rebuild too for good measure. Apologies for adding the photos twice - I'm new to this Photobucket thing ;D Attachments:

Yes it used to belong to Norbo he told me he had it about five years but never rode it - an expensive ornament ;D
Another forum member Perry bought it from Norbo and used it for a year then put it on eBay with no tax or MOT, so it was a bit of a bargain when it came to me.

Bit of a blurred pic .. I want to stick with the original wheels rather than put the lighter FII/NII ones on the bike, but they have been powder coated and would be a right pain to put back to original finish so I'm going to add some red rim tape to them for now and make a decision once it's all back together and I can see how it looks. Discs have cleaned up nicely and are hardly worn, so new wheel bearings and stainless disc bolts are all the front needed. Attachments:

Rim tape must be easier to apply with the wheel upright in the bike .. laid flat is a right pain to do! Attachments:

Not sure whether this pic will show the bearing faces where the mains run in the cases but the two outer bearings had both spun in the cases at some time and left a groove .. Attachments:

First time I have ever had anything vapour blasted - very happy with the result ;D Should have a new crank from norbo next week and new bearings and seals for the gearbox shafts. Top end is away being tuned so now it's time to get started on the frame. Attachments:

The vapour blasting was £50 but then there was the cost of sending them each way which was another £23 in total.

The top end has been away for a rebore with new billet powervalves & bushes fitted, and a tidy up of all the ports. Very pleased with what has been done - the work on the powervalves to match them to the exhaust ports is unbelievably good. Attachments:

All the work on the powervalves and barrels was by Ian E Racing. Just waiting for the new crank and a few other bits to arrive from Norbo, then the engine can be rebuilt. Attachments:
