Hi guys just joined and would like to say hello. My names Mark come from chesterfield. Just bought a RD250lc for a few rides out in the summer. Is there a knack to startin from cold as im not used to this kick start. Press a button and go thats me.

Hi Mark and welcome to the forum,I,m a fellow newbie also with a 250LC.There,s no knack to starting mine,just pull the choke out and one kick she,s off

My mate has also bought one and thats wot got me hooked on buying one. His has had quite a lot of money spent on it by the previous owner. He,s has just sent the panels away to dream macnine to be painted candy blue. It will be a cracker when its finished.

If it takes ages to start when cold, AND you have the choke out then its possible that the float bowls have been put on the wrong carbs at some stage.

They can be a bugger to start when cold its normal new plugs can help with this . Your just down the road from me so thats excelent news . May be we can go for some rides during the summer and we have a little meeting in Mansfield every month so you are most welcome to join in .
Glad we have a couple more local lads joing us

Thanks for the welcome and the advise guys. Never had an lc before had a kmx125 in 1986 that i took my test on and then went straight onto a gpz1100. Ive been gettin more excited about going out on the lc than i do my repsol fireblade. Im off to the classic bike show on sunday at the nec. Anyone know if they have stalls selling second hand parts.

Hi Mark and welcome, I passed my test on a KMX125 back in 1989, great bike derestricted it went like stink, at the time I thought it did anyway. Jess
