has anybody had this issue its putting the gearbox oil out through my exhaust any ideas? its pouring it through is it likely to be my crank casings warped? one person has suggested this

right hand crank seal has gone , it may even be the spacer colar damaged letting the oil get past the seal, worn main bearing will also give the same problem

thanks raccoon i got crank seals and bearings with the bike when i bought it, well i guess i know what im doing on sunday then haha, il let you know how i get on with it

Also rememeber to clean out the exhaust, let it stand upright for a while to drain out most of the oil, then partly fill it with either petrol or parafin and block the ends (spud works best if you dont have the proper stoppers) and shake well to dilute/wash the remaining oil out... then empty and let dry out. otherwise you'll be smoking for ages lol.

stripped it down tonight and you were spot on, the seal fell to pieces and the spacer is damaged aswell, ive got a 1994 tzr 125 do you think the spacer is the same on that? or where could i get one? thanks

i dont know if its the same on tzr you would need to check, if the score is where the seal runs if its not been done before you can turn the spacer round so the new seal runs on the good part of the spacer.

The part is yamaha collar 10v 90387207F300 £11.20 from yam main dealer, part still available, not worth messing around with at that price, i fitted one along with skf c3 mains, make sure your got good quality twin spring seals, decent gasket set and a good threebond or similar sealant
