I am having a problem selecting neutral with my F2. The problem is that it just keeps going from 1st to 2nd, and then when in 2nd it goes passed neutral into 1st, it gets worse when the bike is up to temperature. I can select all gears normally when riding, and it doesn't jump out of gear either. Any ideas ? Michael.

Hi ya, I'm new to this forum, and I'll never claim to know it all, especailly about Lcs. What' your clutch like? Place it on the center stand, if it has one, and try to find neutral by turning the wheel and slecting by hand. If you can find neutral, then the gearbox should be ok. If this is a known fault, I'm sure your get advice and the problem shortly. Good luck.

Hi,
It is quite common, mine can be a bit tricky.
Just the usual things like using good quality oil ( a lot use light gear oil ) and make sure it is adjusted properly and the arm matches up to the marker on the top case.

.Hi My 4lo was much the same as you describe , assuming your clutch is in good shape you need to make sure the adjustment is correct and not too much slack left at the lever . What gear oil are you using , I changed from 10/40 engine oil to a light gear oil 75/90 and found it a lot better .

Hi guys, thanks for the replies. I have had the bike for sometime, but have not used it much. I don't really know much of it's history I'm hoping it's a case of Dreaded previous owner, and just needing some TLC. I have new clutch plates, cable and new light gear oil to fit, I was gladdened to read it's not an uncommon problem which gives me hope that major surgery will not be required.

yep them damper rings are a pain in the ass, they make gear/neutral selection difficult for sure...
