Know a guy who should be shot.
1978 RS 2000 custom lying under a tarpaulin outside for 10 years.
Was a runner when laid up, must be a rusty mould fest by now.

i know a bloke done the same with 2 volvo amazons and a 74 escort mexico. ive known him 20+ years and the volvo's have never mooved and the mex has only been on the road for 6 months in that time. tried getting him to sell me the mex 10 years ago just so it didnt die a rusty death.

Thats sacrilege guys, the RS2000 and Mex will probably still be worth quite a bit. A mate of mine from the RSOC his dad has had an Escort Cosworth from new thats done 1140 miles and he turned down 65k,I can see why now

Thats sacrilege guys, the RS2000 and Mex will probably still be worth quite a bit. A mate of mine from the RSOC his dad has had an Escort Cosworth from new thats done 1140 miles and he turned down 65k,I can see why now A few guys I hung around with about 15 years ago were all into the RS's Davie - 78 RS 2000, had it fromwhen he was at Uni and was in great condition with the usual tweeks. That's the one lying under the tarpauline. Sold it to a mate who had a 1 owner 79 Granada with 10k on the clock which he runs around in. Idiot for leaving the RS to rot. Bod - 79 RS 2000 LHD that he brought back from Germany. Had a light prang in it and didn't have a lot of money so fitted the flat front on it. Still lying in an abandoned lock up about 3 miles from me. Probably most valuable thing in it is the passenger seat. As it was LHD the RH (driver to us) has barely been sat on and is as it left the factory unlike the usual worn out ones. Ernie - 79 RS 2000 in beige of all colours. Totally stripped to shell, blasted and painted but not before having conversion for Cosworth turbo engine and rear end turreted to allow the live axle to go. He still has it and as far as I am aware occasionally uses it. He also had a 3 door cosworth that was built from an 87 shell and fitted out as a full spec 4wd rally car with all new parts and registered as a 93 on a K plate. Another guy I know now has this. Few other guys with Mk1's buried away. A lot of money hidden away Steve
