Hi there everyone, just a quick introduction. I,m Martin,51 from Huddersfield,I recognise a few names on here from other Forums and some of you may know me from being a regular at Squires although I used to be on this I have recently after 6 years of ownership sold my trusty DT and bought a 250LC.It,s been restored although there are one or two jobs still to do although I bought it to ride rather than spanner. Here are a couple of pictures. I know its not detail correct but its fine for me. Looking forward to having a good look round the site, from what I,ve seen it looks superb

Really love it,thanks, only been out on it a few times, its so smooth though above 6000,I had been warned that the 250 was gutless and mid range can be wanting a bit but its just a case of getting used to it. If anyones bored enough I did a video of my first ride, well riding it like a big girls blouse ;D

Thanks mate Don,t ask about the camera, you don,t want to know! Loved the fact that the DT was always the only one at Squires amid a sea of LC,s but it was no good for ride outs and keeping up with the X7,s etc,so if you can,t beat um

Hi, you're not artie of concourse RS fame?? Nice bike BTW, centrestand looks a little overcentre, might be worth checking it's not cracking the mounts, hate to see that bike on the floor.

Thanks for the welcome norbo,I am from Huddersfield but hopefully our paths will meet at some point. Unfortunatly I sold the DT before buying the LC,she lives by coincidence in Nottingham now kept company by some Garelli,s and a 350LC,nice thought though, thanks for the offer.

Loving the XR2 as well, I remember fondly the day I put some aftermarket filters on mine, wheel spun away from a junction, the engine moved in its mounts, as they do, and the filters whacked the bonnet hard enough to dent it...
I bet thats worth a pretty penny now, do you still have it?

Unfortunately I sold her a few years ago and she,s changed hands a couple of times since then, the present owner found my number on an old receipt and gave me a ring not so long ago,he wanted to know if I wanted to buy her back.... for £2500 more than I sold her for! Just sits in a garage in Ireland now.

Absolutely love that XR2. I had a black one many years ago, great car. Can't even remember the last time I saw one. I also have a 250lc mate,I've got microns on it and it really isn't gutless, bit noisy maybe but so am I usually. Enjoy the forum, lots of help and advise here mate.

Like the mk1 XR2, Had one in red till some scum bag left me just a pile of glass when i returned to the car park , only parked it up for 15 mins, middle of the day on a saturday in town centre car park. The old man wasn't to happy either - his roof rack was attached to it.

Yes a lot went missing,I lost an Escort Harrier from outside the house,I was gutted Worked with a guy years ago who was out and about in his Mk2 RS2000, was near his mums house and needed a wizz so parked in the drive, let himself in and ran upstairs to the toilet. Came back down stairs to his mum asking why he did not have his car with him. Turns out they had been following him about waiting to nick it. 2 mins and it was gone. Strange thing is that in the crowd I am in there is a guy who knows a guy who deals in stolen stuff ( no friend of mine ) and he admitted it was him that ringed it, but his attitude was that he was lucky cause when he went to replace the chassis number he found somebody else had done it before so was already nicked. And we think RD's are tampered with a lot Steve

I have heard some stories but thats a first for me. Recently saw an RS2000 fetch £23000,I never thought I,d see the day. The one that used to be in The Professionals has recently resurfaced and they reckon thats worth over 30k Hopefully RD prices will go the same way
