Vapour blasting mate gets them looking like brand new,it cleans them without damaging the surface finish.

Don't know too much about it tbh mate,we have a machine at work which uses water and media and that is the one I used. We also have machines that use nut shells for blast media but they are only good for stripping paint and aren't any good on bare engine casings and carbs etc they just don't do anything, then we have a machine that uses grit and that is good for rusty stuff but will damage the surface finish. Have a look in the back of classic bike mags etc there places that advertise the service you want.
HTH cCheers Andy :-)

Go for vapour blasting - Mark at F & J Motorcycles, top job. I sent him a box of bits last week and had them back within a couple of days. Jessy

Vapour / Vaqua blasting is definately the best way. However if you have 4+ hours to spare and a jet wash, you could try repeated cycles of alloy wheel cleaner then jetwash. Worked for me.
